Northern Kentucky Household Hazardous Waste Collection Event

Safe Disposal for Boone, Campbell, and Kenton Counties

Purpose and Background

The Northern Kentucky Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) Collection Event, organized by the Northern Kentucky Solid Waste Management Area and the HHW Action Coalition, provides a free, safe, and environmentally responsible way for residents of Boone, Campbell, and Kenton Counties to dispose of hazardous household materials. Hazardous waste includes products with corrosive, toxic, ignitable, or reactive ingredients, such as paints, batteries, cleaners, and pesticides, which can harm health, sanitation workers, and the environment if improperly discarded.

The event promotes reducing, reusing, and recycling hazardous materials, ensuring safe disposal for items that cannot be repurposed, in compliance with Kentucky's stringent landfill regulations.
